After enjoying the scenery of Matsushima—one of the three most scenic spots in Japan—from a sightseeing boat, it was time for lunch. Knowing that the area is famous for its seafood bowls and grilled oysters, I decided on a seafood bowl and headed to the Matsushima Fish Market. Although it was still before noon, a fairly long line had already formed. While waiting in line, I looked over the menu and chose the *kaisen chirashi-don* (seafood rice bowl) for 2,600 yen. I purchased a meal ticket from a vending machine, handed it to a staff member, and after a five-minute wait, my seafood bowl was ready. The first floor serves as a retail area, while the second floor houses the dining space; I headed upstairs, picked a seat, and began my lunch. It was absolutely delicious—a guaranteed hit! 10th Oct.
