RUNNING and CLIMBING, SIGHTSEEING 2026

イメージ
22th Feb. 2026 I entered the half marathon division of the Kibiji Marathon on Sunday, February 22, 2026. I finished in the 2-2.5 hour range. Apparently, the opening ceremony and starting point were incredibly crowded, likely due to the Kuroda brothers from Aoyama Gakuin University being invited as guest runners (according to my partner). This was my first time participating, so I don't know what it was like the previous time, but even I, who arrived late at the starting point, felt the lingering effects of the crowds. I was extremely satisfied with the support from the roadside, the spacing of aid stations, the availability of local food, the baggage check-in process, and the number of restrooms. Above all, the clever idea of not having to go through the entry process on the day was incredibly wonderful. I hope this trend spreads nationwide. And thank you to all the volunteers. The process leading up to the issuance of my completion certificate was also very smooth and great. The...

Gourmet from January 2026 to

6th May 2026 On the final day of Golden Week 2026, I had Onomichi ramen and a small mini fried rice at Takasaka PA on the Sanyo Expressway. I expected it to be extremely crowded since it was around noon, but it was easier than I thought, and I was able to sit down easily. I was surprised by the wide variety of menu. For a highway rest area (meaning not a service area), they have a very diverse menu with various set meals and other dishes. Onomichi ramen is of course my favorite, and the thickness and quantity of the char siu were excellent and delicious, something you wouldn't expect at a rest area. The mini fried rice was a regular test. 5th May 2026 We had sweets after lunch at Hoshi Fruits, a apparently very popular shop in Yanai City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The stylish shop is attached to a gift shop selling souvenirs from Yamaguchi Prefecture. They have both eat-in and take-out options, but the eat-in area was very crowded, so we opted for take-out. I ordered a soft-serve ice c...
