Shikuu's Gourmet from May 2026

29th June 2026

I made my first visit to Bar Rica Cervessa, a Spanish food restaurant located in Experia, a shopping complex adjacent to Maihama Station. I had made a reservation for 6 PM, just in case, but the restaurant wasn't full at all. However, by around 7 PM, it was almost completely full.

I enjoyed Spanish food such as pintxos, ajillo, beef stewed in red wine, and paella, while drinking beer, wine, and highballs.

It was a very delicious and enjoyable night, with flavors I don't usually eat.

I drank a bit too much, so the bill ended up being a little on the expensive side.

I had a rice-based lunch at "Wa-Gohan Cafe Chawan" (Maihama Station branch), a spot I discovered for an early lunch after shopping for souvenirs near Maihama Station in Chiba. Although this was a private outing, I had been eating a lot of floral-themed meals recently, so I decided right away that I wanted rice.

The menu was extensive and it was hard to choose, but I ordered a tuna and avocado dish topped with plenty of vegetables.

Tuna and avocado are a classic, perfect combination. The vegetables and the acidity of the dressing really bring out the flavor of the tuna.

It appears to be a franchise operated by Skylark.

 It was Heavy Rain which was affected by Typhoon 7th 2026 in Kochi city. We tried to go to Mendokoro Kuraki which is popular ramen nuddle restaurant by separate between nuddle and soup.

its soup is made from seafood, and it has some famous menu. one of them is beef もつ in soup and separated nuddle.

I order the Regular size of it and flied rice.

 I experiented some non favor seafood soup in past, but this restaurant's soup is my favor taste, well.

 They are very Excellent. I want to be goIng to visit again.

After work in Kochi, since I was in Kochi anyway, I decided to have some gyoza, snacks, and ramen at Yasubei, a Kochi specialty restaurant. Yasubei used to operate a food stall in the heart of Kochi city, but after various twists and turns, they closed their stall and now operate in several locations throughout Kochi.

I had gyoza with garlic, as well as shredded bell peppers, dried round herring, and dried bonito flakes. It was so delicious that the draft beer and highballs went down very easily. (The drinks definitely drove up the price!)

Finally, I finished with ramen.

It was great to enjoy the taste of Kochi's food stalls again after so long.


12th June 2026

This is a weekday lunch at Shokudo Gorirakun, a popular restaurant in the Honai district of Yawatahama City, Ehime Prefecture, which often has a waiting line.

While their pork cutlets and curry are said to be excellent, I chose the fried chicken from their Kings Road Chicken menu. I ordered the regular-sized rice portion.

Despite its popularity, I arrived just before noon and was able to enter and eat with almost no waiting time.

13th June

I had Saturday lunch at restaurant Chaff in Higashiyamasaki town, Takamatsu city. I selected the "Jaa Jaa Rice Large Portion" from their lunch menu.

As I imagined, the Jaa Jaa Noodle topping was placed on top of the rice. The rice was decorated with healthy ingredients. The dressing was also very good. The rice portion was large enough to satisfy even a man with a big appetite.







12th June, 2026

I visited Kanogawasou nearby Kanogawa 

dam, Ehime Pref. It has famous menu whicn is Kanogawa Dam Curry, YamatosakaDam Curry and the others. Since Kanogawa Dam Curry is very large size, I seem that it can make a few person be satisfied, I ordered Yamatosaka Dam Curry. Dam Curry is popular among dam funs. White rice set up like dam shape in relativily deep plate, and Curry pour one side of rice dam, and set the vegetable and pork flys on the other side.

I want to increase curry liquid, since the reta curry liquid for rice is a little small.


5th May, 2026

Later in Golden Week, I visited a French restaurant in Tabuse-cho, Yamaguchi Prefecture for lunch. It's about 10 minutes from Yamaguchi Flower Park.

I was spoiled for choice with the extensive menu, but the hamburger steak and large fried shrimp, which were like an adult version of a children's lunch, were a bit expensive, so I ordered the half-and-half curry with a salad, dessert, and drink set.

I also got a tonkatsu (pork cutlet) from my companion to transform the half-and-half curry into katsu curry. This curry was unique; first, a sweetness spread, then a gradual spiciness followed, and finally, a distinctive spicy heat lingered, resulting in a complex flavor.



A day of May 2026

This was my first visit to Burger King in ORUNE Takamatsu. I've heard that Burger King's burgers are on the larger side, so since I was at Burger King, I decided to go for a larger portion. I ordered the Big Mouth Smoke House Bacon Double Beef Set. At over 1000 yen, it was a satisfyingly large portion. The smoky bacon and patty were very good. My partner also had an avocado wappa, which was very satisfying.

Golf Round Lunch at Royal Takamatsu County Club, Kagawa Prefecture.

There are three recommended menu items, and I chose the motsu sauce yakisoba (fried noodles with offal). The rich sauce goes well with the offal and fried noodles. The thin omelet topping is also good.

I made my first visit to Tai Shio Ramen-Dounoura, located next to Tokushima University in Tokushima City, Tokushima Prefecture, for a ramen lunch. Among the unique menu items, I ordered the classic-looking Tai Shio Ramen. I had imagined a light, mild soup, but the rich-tasting soup coated the noodles perfectly. The fried sea bream topping added a nice accent. The portion size is a little small, so those who prefer larger portions might be better off ordering a rice dish or a set meal.

 Parking is a bit limited, so take care!

With the strawberry harvest season nearing its end, we headed to SkyFarm in Iida-cho, Takamatsu City, for some strawberry sweets.

They were also holding a strawberry picking event during the late season, and there was a large crowd gathered around the shop.

I ordered a strawberry paffe, and my partner ordered a strawberry smoothie. The total price of these two sweets was less than 1,000 yen. It's very reasonable. In an age where many large paffes cost over 2,000 yen, a delicious and reasonably sized paffe like this is very appealing.


A day of May

This is a review of the Iya Soba Lunch at Michi-no-Eki Nishiiya, located in the mountainous area of ​​Nishi-Iya, Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture. I had imagined they would only serve regular and standard Iya soba, but they have debuted a menu item called "Iya NAMBAN," which is a marriage of traditional Iya soba and Keyman curry. Iya soba noodles topped with Keyman curry cooked by local residents. I tried it. The curry, with its effective hot peppers, and the dashi soup mixed with the Iya soba made for a delicious dish. It was an unexpected meeting in the countryside of Tokushima.
